### Tessellation

 Definition of tessellation Tessellation is: A pattern made of identical polygons: • the polygons must fit together without any gaps • the polygons should not overlap Look to the right for an example of tessellation.

 Regular polygon Irregular polygon A regular polygon has equal sides. And a irregular polygon has uneven sides. Salzman, L., (1990).  Cool Tessellations.  Creative activities that make math and science fun for kids!  P6-7)

 Vocabulary Polygons = shapes Vertices = when two or more lines meet Angles = the amount of turn between two straight lines that have an end point.
